The issue with using a normal prime lens with extension tubes is a that you lack the macro sharpness, as a macro lens focusing in this certain magnification will get you a nice sharp clean image. But here its sorta "unsharp"..just to tell you that otherwise the composition and the magnification is perfect! was this natural?
Thanks for you comment! Yes, all natural! I was using my prime lens full open at f1.4, so unfortunately the depth of field was pretty small. It was also hand-held. But it turned out to be the best picture from this series.
Thanks! I know, it's because I'm using a vintage (manual focus) prime lens with an adapter. Unfortunately this lens doesn't communicate with the camera itself, so it sets the aperture at 1.0. I have to set the focus and aperture on the lens to get a picture. Here I was using an aperture of f2.0 on the 50mm/f1.4.
